Conquering Hollywood Through Web 2.0
Despite enhanced concerns over how to monetize media and a strike from by the WGA, there has never been a better time for the creative class. Adoption of a few web platforms and stardom is practically unavoidable. Honest…here is the path I plan to follow to the top.
Several years of uber 1.0 experience with Dance Dance Revolution have adequately prepared my body for competition in Dancejam - a new web portal from MC Hammer. Mr. 2 Legit himself describes the company as a business allowing “users to interact, communicate, compete and be the central figures of the music they love and that resonates with them.”
During my rise to fame on Dancejam, I will stream subsequent insights and hardships through an appropriate mixture of Twitter, Tumblr, and Jaiku. The first reality lifestream will emerge as a result of my efforts, spawning a branded Facebook page. Adverti$ing dollar$ $tart flowing. Community participation escalates.
Dance-offs and advertising revenues will dominate my existence for several months before I bootstrap a HD-filmed series focused on competitive, online, dancing Greek bloggers. With the WGA strike, I am able to contract lead writers from Lost and Desperate Housewives on a nominal budget. Joost and Hulu become exclusive carriers of the content which reaches 6 million viewers worldwide. Success…all thanks to Web 2.0.
